Seed Catalogues and Garden Allotments
Jan. 20th, 2010 12:09 pmThis morinng, I ordered seed catalogues for the first time in years. I know they are old-fashioned. I certainly could browse the on-line catalogue, but there is something so familiar and so glorious about a pile of printed seed catalogues, with notes, scribbles and folded-over page corners.
What a clear indication that the opening spiral of the season has begun!
There is a very good chance that I will have a garden allotment this year. I will know next month if I will have a 10' x 10' plot of soil. This could be very exciting. I want to grow a salad garden, but I also want to plant herbs. Lots of herbs.
It has been nearly 10 years since I closed the garden gate at Maplehurst and walked away. This will be a very different garden, because I am a different woman now.
