Declare it and so it shall be
Dec. 31st, 2008 06:23 pmAt the beginning of the year, I posted three affirmations, because I don't believe in resolutions.
Of course, as I began healing from the events of 2007, my joy started coming back to me, as did my ability to see beauty and feel love. I was still running dry on community until a seemingly random chain of events started to unfold.
Jenn sent me an invitation to Plurk
and Plurk led me to meet some fiber arts people on Ravelry
and from there I had a good time hanging out with them in Rhinebeck,
which led me to start knitting again and
(deep breath because this sentence is getting long)
I started attracting fiber arts people like a magnet.
So I started a knitting circle. Me. The shy one.
I started going to a spinners circle in the city
and one morning, spinning on the subway
I met a woman who was inspired to reawaken her spinning
and joined our circle.
This is what I mean about carrying your own light with you. This is what happens when it shines through you like a beacon.
This is what happens when magic works.
Tomorrow I will have some affirmations for the coming year. Some I will share, and some are best left up to the Gods.
- Opening the front door each morning is an act of joy.
- I am imbued with the beauty and love that surrounds me.
- I am filled with the Goddess-given light of the Now.

affirmations for the new year
Dec. 31st, 2007 10:06 amOpening the front door each morning is an act of joy.
I am imbued with the beauty and love that surrounds me.
I am filled with the Goddess-given light of the Now.
A note on affirmations:
Each year, I make affirmations rather than resolutions. As a witch, I have learned that to manifest something in my life, I have to will its existence so strongly that it BECOMES reality. Affirmations are always made in the present tense. I am. It is.
My 2008 affirmations bring me in closer touch with the world that surrounds me, draw to me the most positive and joyous energy, and give me pause to live in the moment, in the great Now that is both timeless and fleeting.
I encourage you to declare affirmations for the new year. Focus on the results, not the process. What do you affirm?
