in the potting shed
May. 24th, 2010 07:04 pm If I had a potting shed, I would have spent the day in it. Instead, I transformed my kitchen into an impromptu potting shed and brought the Aerie's seasonal garden to life.
WIndow boxes: deep red Geraniums, yellow-green Helichrysum 'Limelight,' tumbling white Bacopa and silvery Dusty Miller that over-wintered from last year.
On the window sill: tricolor Sage, Rosemary, Thyme and Lavender.
The scents mingle into a fragrant perfume. The base note comes from the damp potting soil. In the middle, sweet sage and pungent rosemary. The top note is delicate lavender. Mmmmm.
