I also needed some spring cleaning
Mar. 12th, 2011 11:21 am I should be thinking about the dust in the corners and the rain spotted windows, but I also needed some spring cleaning.
Meditation is wonderful for getting the cobwebs out of the mind, but there is nothing like the movement of yoga and trance dance to clear the cobwebs from the entire body. Stretch lyrically to release the rigidity of winter from the spine. Sway in concert with the wind. Roll on the earth and feel Her embrace. Flow in tune with the water. Move vibrantly from the heart, and feel the fire within.
I am not the same person after my yoga practice that I was before. I am awake and aware. I am closer to the earth. These may be small shifts in perspective, in being. I walk differently. I am taller and more graceful. I am open to infinite possibility. I am filled with the blessings of the Goddess.
No, I am not on retreat at Kripalu. Soon, but not today. I carry a spark of the bliss within my heart, and it ignites on a morning such as this.
As I prepare my mind for meditation, my heart opens to the people in Japan. May they be safe. May they be healthy. May they know comfort and ease as they rebuild their lives and homes.
